Bokaro Courts Demand Photos for Bail
13 Sep
Summary
- Judiciary mandates photos of bailers and sureties.
- Police verification of bail documents is now required.
- Bail bonds are provisionally accepted for one week.
The district judiciary in Bokaro has significantly tightened its bail procedures, requiring mandatory verification of sureties and bailers before bail bonds are confirmed. An official order from the principal district and sessions judge now mandates that all courts within the judgeship must affix photographs of sureties and bailers to bail bonds.
These documents, along with the photographs, will be dispatched to the relevant police stations for verification. Police stations are instructed to submit their verification reports within a week of receiving the necessary documents. This enhanced process is designed to ensure thorough vetting of individuals vouching for accused persons and to curb potential abuses of the bail system.
Under the revised protocol, courts will provisionally accept bail bonds for a period of one week. Confirmation of these bonds is contingent upon the court receiving a satisfactory verification report from the police. The presidents and general secretaries of the Bar associations in Bokaro and Tenughat have been tasked with informing advocates about these new regulations and ensuring adherence to them. Copies of the directive have been distributed to all courts in Bokaro and Tenughat, as well as to the Bokaro SP and other judicial authorities for necessary action.
