A suspected stolen BMW crashed into a woman's vehicle following a police pursuit in Bartley Green, Birmingham, late yesterday evening. The incident occurred shortly before 10pm on Clapgate Lane. The BMW had reportedly failed to stop for officers, leading to the chase.
The collision resulted in injuries to both drivers. A woman in her 30s, driving the Vauxhall, and a man in his 20s, from the BMW, were taken to the hospital. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening or life-changing.
The man driving the BMW has since been arrested on suspicion of several offenses, including causing serious injury by dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle. As per standard procedure, the matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for investigation.
