Blue Drum Murders: Dismembered Bodies Hidden in Plastic Drums

An India Today investigation, titled 'Post Mortem,' exposes a chilling pattern of 'blue drum murders' across several Indian cities. These crimes involve killers dismembering bodies and hiding them within ordinary plastic drums, turning them into gruesome vessels of death. The investigation highlights how psychological manipulation, obsession, and betrayals within families contribute to these horrific acts.

Recent cases illustrate the disturbing nature of these crimes. In Lucknow, a 19-year-old allegedly killed his father and dismembered the body, reportedly learning the technique from web series. In Meerut, a couple is accused of murdering her husband, dismembering him, and sealing the remains in a drum before attempting to create alibis. A 2021 case in Muzaffarpur resulted in a life sentence for one perpetrator in a similar murder and dismemberment scenario, with an accomplice still absconding.
