Four men have been imprisoned at Birmingham Crown Court for their involvement in a conspiracy to shoot at addresses in Birmingham. The plot was hatched on October 18, 2024, when Faieq Ghazanfar organized for Lesane Anishere, Ali Riyan, Abdulaziz Jama, and Asfeya Gardi to target an address in Poppy Grove, Alum Rock. Ghazanfar sent a picture of the intended target and instructed them to fire eight shots, demanding video evidence of the act.
However, their plan went disastrously wrong. On their way to execute the shooting, the group was targeted, resulting in the death of Ali Riyan. In a separate incident prior to this, Lesane Anishere had discharged a firearm at a house in Alum Rock on October 4, 2024, while children were present. The West Midlands Police investigation revealed the quartet's intent to cause harm with firearms. Ghazanfar received 11 years and 10 months, Anishere 14 years, Jama and Gardi each received five years and eight months.
