In Mehnaur village, Nalanda district, a 31-year-old woman named Aarti Devi was allegedly murdered by her husband, Mithlesh Yadav, on Saturday night. The victim's brother reported that Mithlesh frequently assaulted Aarti, particularly after consuming alcohol. He had been previously jailed due to a complaint filed by Aarti at the Deepnagar police station last month.
Mithlesh, who was released on bail just eight days prior to the alleged incident, is accused of strangulation. Police recovered Aarti's body from their locked home on Sunday morning. The couple, married since 2012, had two children, an eight-year-old son and a six-year-old daughter. Authorities have conducted a postmortem and are conducting raids to apprehend the suspect.
