A 17-year-old student in Bihar's Samastipur district tragically took her own life by hanging, reportedly due to severe harassment from local youths. On the day of the incident, the accused youths reportedly arrived at the girl's residence and attempted to abduct her. Her mother intervened, and the youths fled. Distraught and feeling unsafe, the girl tragically ended her life shortly thereafter. The family has expressed deep disappointment with the local police, alleging a complete lack of action despite prompt reporting.
Police have registered a case and sent the deceased's body for post-mortem examination. While investigations are underway and further action is promised, the family voices concerns over poor implementation of laws, underscoring the need for effective law enforcement to prevent such tragedies.
