Six individuals posing as police officers executed a daring daylight robbery in Bihar's Jamui district, stealing jewelry valued at nearly Rs 15 lakh from a government teacher's residence. The incident, which took place around 6:35 a.m. on Monday in Telwa Bazaar, has deeply disturbed local residents and highlighted significant law and order concerns.
The imposters, armed and wearing police uniforms, falsely claimed a warrant against the teacher, Sanjeev Kumar. Upon gaining entry, they ransacked the house, seizing wedding jewelry intended for his daughter and his wife's ornaments. The perpetrators also threatened to abduct Mr. Kumar before escaping in a car, the visuals of which have been captured on CCTV.
Simratala police are actively investigating the case, examining all available evidence, including CCTV footage of the getaway vehicle. The victim expressed devastation, as the stolen items were crucial for his daughter's impending marriage. This audacious crime, committed in broad daylight, has intensified fear among locals, who are demanding increased police presence and security.
