Bihar Minors Harassed: Video Sparks Outrage

In Bihar's Jamui district, three individuals were apprehended following the circulation of a video on social media allegedly showing the harassment of two minors. A case has been registered against seven people under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The incident occurred on September 19 when the two minors, friends returning from coaching, were allegedly intercepted and harassed. The video footage of the event subsequently went viral, prompting police action. Authorities identified the victims with the help of a vehicle registration number from the video.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by Jamui Sub-Divisional Police Officer Deepti Monali, has been formed. While three suspects are in custody, searches are underway for the remaining four. Police are also working to remove the disturbing video from online platforms and identify those who circulated it.
The incident has also ignited a political row in Bihar, with opposition leaders questioning the state government's commitment to women's and children's safety.
