A 23-year-old DJ operator tragically lost his life in Kaimur district, Bihar, on Tuesday night. Identified as Raja Kumar Gupta, a resident of Pusauli Bazaar, he was allegedly lynched following a dispute related to a love affair. The incident has ignited significant public anger and led to protests.
According to preliminary police investigations, Raja was lured to a school campus on the pretext of hiring DJ equipment. There, he was severely assaulted with iron rods and wooden clubs. His assailants reportedly dragged him across railway tracks to another school premise where the brutal attack continued. This targeted assault is believed to have stemmed from a confrontation earlier in the evening.
The victim's family reported that Raja was in a relationship with a local girl. Tensions escalated when the girl's family allegedly discovered them together at Raja's shop. The situation turned violent after relatives of the girl reportedly summoned Raja to a school under false pretenses, leading to the fatal attack.
In response to the killing, grieving family members and hundreds of villagers staged a protest on Wednesday morning. They placed the body on National Highway-19, causing a traffic blockade for over two hours. Senior police officials assured swift action, leading to the lifting of the protest. Authorities have since arrested four individuals, including the main suspect, Abhishek, and deployed additional forces to maintain order.
