Following the shooting of his sister, the constable then took his own life with the same weapon. City superintendent of police (West) Sanket Kumar suggested the motive may be linked to frequent family arguments.
These disputes were reportedly centered around the sister's ongoing mental health challenges. Police responded to the scene after receiving information about two individuals sustaining bullet injuries.
The service revolver was recovered from the location. Both bodies were subsequently sent for post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death.
