Amruthahally police in Bengaluru have apprehended five individuals in connection with the alleged gangrape of a 19-year-old woman at a villa in Jakkur. The arrests followed confessions from the first two detainees, leading to the detention of three more suspects.
The victim, a college student, reported meeting one of the accused, Dixon, through Instagram. He allegedly lured her to a party at the villa on the night of February 14. Upon arrival on February 15, she was introduced to another accused, Nikhil, and subsequently forced to consume a pill, leading to disorientation.
During her semi-conscious state, she was allegedly sexually assaulted by two men. The complaint was filed after Nikhil reported a honey-trap attempt to Malleswaram police. Anirudh, a contractor, is accused of facilitating the villa booking, which was subleased to a third party without the knowledge of the villa owner, an IPS officer.
Those arrested include Shravan (21, Shivamogga), Anirudh (33, Davanagere), Mohit Jain (23, Gujarat), Dixon Santra (21, Kolkata), and Nikhil HD (34, Hassan). Other accused allegedly provided logistical support, such as arranging transportation.
