A 27-year-old woman in Bengaluru died by suicide on Friday at her Bagalagunte residence. The tech professional, Vidyajyoti, was reportedly distressed after an astrologer made a negative prediction concerning her upcoming marriage.
Her parents had agreed to her marriage with a man from a different caste. An astrologer consulted by the family allegedly predicted future misunderstandings and potential separation two years into the marriage.
As a remedy, the astrologer recommended a nine-day ritual. Tragically, on the final day of this ritual, Vidyajyoti died by suicide in her room. Police have registered an Unnatural Death Report and are investigating the incident.
