Summary
- A 24-year-old techie was arrested for allegedly killing her family.
- The motive was reportedly a dispute over her Rs 30 lakh bank loan debt.
- The accused and her live-in partner fled after the stabbing incident.

A 24-year-old tech professional, identified as M Shwetha, was apprehended in Pondicherry following a significant manhunt. She is accused of the brutal stabbing deaths of her father, Somasundar (52), mother, Muthulakshmi (48), and younger sister, Supriya (19). The tragic events unfolded within their Bengaluru apartment on a Monday night.
Police sources indicate that Shwetha and her live-in partner, J Kenneth, both engineering graduates, are responsible for the homicides. A primary motive appears to be a financial dispute related to Shwetha's substantial bank loans, reportedly totaling over Rs 30 lakh. The couple had kept their relationship secret from their families for more than a year.
The situation escalated when Shwetha's mother visited the couple's apartment due to arriving bank loan notices. Her father and sister arrived the following day, leading to a violent confrontation. Neighbours reported hearing screams, and the father, Somasundar, was later found critically injured on the staircase. In his dying declaration, he implicated Shwetha and mentioned her significant debt.
CCTV footage captured Shwetha and Kenneth fleeing the apartment complex shortly after the incident, reportedly by jumping from their balcony. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, but tragically, Muthulakshmi and Supriya were declared dead upon arrival, and Somasundar succumbed to his injuries later. Police are continuing their investigation into the intricate details of the case.
