On October 15, 2025, a messy relationship triangle led to the arrest of two 20-year-olds for stabbing an 18-year-old PU student in broad daylight in Bengaluru's RT Nagar area. The incident occurred after a video of the attack went viral on social media.
Police arrested Prabhu, 20, and Ganesh, 20, both residents of RT Nagar, for attacking Vaibhav, 18, a second-year PU student at a private college. According to the investigation, Prabhu, who was a student at the same college as the victim last year, was in a romantic relationship with a girl. However, the girl later ended the relationship and became friends with Vaibhav.
Despite the breakup, Prabhu continued to message the girl on Instagram, which Vaibhav objected to. On Monday afternoon, Prabhu attacked Vaibhav with a dagger and fled the scene on a scooter driven by Ganesh. Vaibhav sustained minor injuries on his hand and body and was treated at a hospital. The victim did not file a complaint initially, but police registered a case after the video of the attack went viral.
