Son Kills Abusive Stepfather in Bengaluru

A 23-year-old man, identified as Uday Kumar, has been arrested in Bengaluru following the death of his stepfather, Sridhar. The incident occurred in Shivapura after Sridhar allegedly attempted to abuse his wife, Deena, Uday's mother. The confrontation escalated when Sridhar reportedly picked up scissors and advanced on Deena. Uday intervened, striking Sridhar multiple times with a motorcycle shock absorber. Sridhar sustained severe injuries and later died during medical treatment at BGS Hospital. Madanayakanahalli police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

Sridhar and Deena had been married for about 22 years. Deena's son, Uday, resided with the couple along with Sridhar's two children. Reports indicate Sridhar, a journalist, struggled with alcohol abuse and frequently caused disturbances at home, sometimes assaulting his wife. The victim's body has been transferred to Victoria Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
