Bengaluru Love Triangle Ends in Suspected Murder-Suicide

A suspected murder-suicide attempt has left a Bengaluru family in distress after a 22-year-old woman, Bhavani S, was found dead in her rented accommodation. Her alleged partner, Chandan, was discovered unconscious nearby and is currently hospitalized.

Investigators revealed that Bhavani and Chandan had been in a relationship for years and reportedly entered into a secret marriage about a year prior. Chandan, however, is already married and has a child from his first union. The case gained attention on June 13 when Bhavani's family noticed a wedding anniversary post on her Instagram story, allegedly uploaded by Chandan.

Concerns grew when Bhavani became unreachable. Her father contacted the landlord, leading to the grim discovery of Bhavani's body and Chandan's unconscious state. Police believe a confrontation may have occurred after Bhavani informed Chandan about her family's plans for her upcoming engagement.

Preliminary findings suggest Chandan may have coerced Bhavani into a suicide pact involving poison. When Bhavani survived the initial ingestion, police suspect Chandan strangled her before consuming more poison himself. Efforts to stage the scene as a suicide are also under scrutiny, with investigators examining an Instagram post possibly made from Bhavani's account shortly before the incident.

A murder case has been registered, and police are awaiting forensic and medical reports to ascertain the exact events. Neighbours had reportedly known the couple as husband and wife for nearly a year.
