In Bengaluru, a fatal incident occurred on Sunday evening when 33-year-old bodybuilder Prashanth M was deliberately run over by a car. The tragic event followed a drunken brawl between Prashanth and 37-year-old software engineer Roshan Hegde after a local cricket tournament.
The altercation reportedly began over a cigarette lighter on an open ground behind a mall. The argument quickly turned violent, with both individuals resorting to using beer bottles as weapons. Hegde sustained a cut on his tongue during the scuffle.
After the fight, Hegde entered his car, but Prashanth allegedly chased him and clung to the vehicle's door as it sped away. Hegde then deliberately accelerated, first crashing the car into a tree and subsequently into a compound wall, fatally injuring Prashanth.
Initially reported as a road accident, a senior police officer confirmed that preliminary investigations, bolstered by dash camera footage from Hegde's vehicle, revealed the act was intentional and constituted murder. Hebbagodi police have arrested Hegde, and further investigations are ongoing.
