This aggressive approach is part of broader efforts to eradicate the drug menace, including extensive awareness campaigns in educational institutions.
The police have reported a significant rise in drug-related cases, with 4,168 registered in 2024 and a further increase to 5,747 in 2025. Foreign nationals continue to be implicated in these networks, leading to the deportation of 300 individuals over the last two years.
