Bengaluru Child Murder: Rape Confirmed Before Strangulation
11 Jan
Summary
- Six-year-old victim was raped before being strangled to death.
- Neighbor Yusuf Khan arrested in connection with the murder.
- Disputes between victim's mother and Khan preceded the crime.

The medical examination of a six-year-old girl in Bengaluru tragically confirmed she was raped before being strangled to death. Her body was discovered last Tuesday in a drain near a Nallurahalli temple, following a missing person report filed by her father. Authorities quickly identified and apprehended a suspect, 35-year-old neighbor Yusuf Khan, on a train in Cuttack.
Khan was subsequently brought back to Bengaluru and arrested. Police confirmed that rape charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act would be added to the existing murder charge. This development marks a critical step in the ongoing investigation into the horrific crime.
Preliminary findings suggest the motive stemmed from ongoing conflicts between the victim's mother and Khan. Disputes over daily matters and professional rivalry escalated, reportedly leading Khan to kidnap the child. He then allegedly raped and murdered her before attempting to flee the city.
