Suspect Arrested for Killing Beggar Over Cash

In Sonbhadra district, police have apprehended Vikas Kumar Chero alias Vicky in connection with the murder of a mentally challenged beggar. The victim, identified as Mangaru, aged 35, was found deceased on January 28 in Ramgarh market, under the Pannuganj police station.
During their investigation, authorities identified Chero, a resident of Kewal village, as a suspect. He was arrested near the Karwaniya canal on Tuesday night. Chero has reportedly confessed to the crime, stating he murdered Mangaru to steal money he had received as alms.
The accused admitted that he noticed Mangaru counting money near the market on January 27. He waited until Mangaru fell asleep near a school building to attempt the robbery. When Mangaru awoke and resisted, Chero used a sharp piece of glass to kill him and fled with the money.
