19 Feb
Summary
- Beautician found with nitrous oxide containers in her BMW.
- She was stopped by police for erratic driving with a burst tyre.
- The beautician received a suspended prison sentence and driving ban.

A beautician narrowly avoided jail after being caught with nitrous oxide in her BMW while driving erratically with a burst tyre. Sana Aslim, 38, was stopped by police on June 25 last year near Warrington after swerving dangerously.
Officers attempted to pull her over, but Aslim continued driving at 20mph, laughing and waving at police. She eventually stopped but failed to provide a roadside sample for analysis. Aslim claimed the nitrous oxide was for safekeeping and that she momentarily failed to stop.
At Warrington Magistrates' Court, Aslim pleaded guilty to several charges including dangerous driving and possession of nitrous oxide. She was sentenced to 20 weeks imprisonment, suspended for one year, and banned from driving for 18 months.
In addition to the suspended sentence, Aslim must complete 25 days of rehabilitation activities and pass an extended driving test. She was also ordered to pay £354 in costs and a surcharge. The judge cited her realistic prospect of rehabilitation and dependents as reasons for the suspended sentence.
