A peculiar insurance fraud scheme, where a bear suit was used to stage damage to luxury vehicles, has concluded with jail sentences for three perpetrators. Alfiya Zuckerman, Ruben Tamrazian, and Vahe Muradkhanyan pleaded no contest to felony insurance fraud, admitting their roles in a plot that yielded more than $140,000 in payouts.
Video evidence revealed an individual dressed in a bear costume, armed with claw-like implements, intentionally damaging high-end cars. The affected vehicles included a Rolls-Royce Ghost, a Mercedes G63 AMG, and a Mercedes E350. The trio received 180-day weekend jail sentences, ordered to pay over $100,000 in restitution, and placed on two years of probation. A fourth individual, Ararat Chirkinian, is scheduled to appear in court in September 2026.
