Summary

- Two men arrested in October 2025 face charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The aftermath of a significant illicit drug superlab bust in British Columbia's Fraser Valley is proving to be a costly operation, with cleanup expenses reaching hundreds of thousands of dollars. This extensive cost follows the initial discovery where authorities seized a substantial amount of narcotics, including 40 kilograms of fentanyl and its analogs, alongside 5,000 kilograms of precursor chemicals. The operation, which also yielded other illicit substances like MDMA and methamphetamine, required specialized resources for safe dismantling and analysis.
In connection with the seizures, police arrested 35-year-old Justin Fauth and 37-year-old Carlos Martinez on October 3, 2025. Both men have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and are currently in custody. Authorities also linked a subsequent seizure of 50 kilograms of fluorofentanyl in November 2025 back to this Chilliwack drug lab, underscoring the lab's extensive reach and impact. The complexity and inherent dangers associated with the safe handling and analysis of the seized materials significantly prolonged the cleanup and investigation processes.
