In Bathinda, a disturbing case has emerged involving a mother accused of fatally poisoning her two young children. Jassi Kaur, in her mid-30s, has been arrested following her confession to administering rat poison to her eight-year-old daughter and six-year-old son over several weeks.
The tragedy unfolded gradually, with the children's father, Budh Singh, initially suspecting only a stomach infection when their daughter passed away two weeks prior. However, when their six-year-old son died with identical symptoms on Friday night, Budh Singh grew suspicious and alerted the authorities.
According to police, Jassi Kaur allegedly confessed to a conspiracy involving her paramour, Lakhi Singh, and her sister, Mota Kaur. Jassi and Mota were arrested on Saturday. Lakhi Singh, who resides in Barnala, is currently absconding.
Budh Singh, a laborer, reportedly suspected his wife of infidelity but remained silent for the children's sake. He stated that after his son's death, he became convinced his wife, her sister, and Lakhi Singh were responsible for the children's demise. A murder case has been filed against the three accused at the Rampura Phool police station. Postmortem results are anticipated on Sunday.
