Two men, identified as ARG from India and RN from Singapore, were apprehended while conducting yoga classes and working as instructors in Buleleng Regency. Concurrently, ST, a Chinese citizen, was found installing and training staff on production machinery at a factory in Karangasem Regency.
These foreigners were utilizing either Visas on Arrival or Visit Visa-Free facilities, which explicitly prohibit work. Following their discovery of visa violations in the days leading up to July 28, 2026, they were deported according to Indonesian Immigration Law and have been black-listed from re-entry.
Immigration officials emphasized the imperative for all foreign nationals to comply with Indonesian regulations. The crackdown aligns with new visa rules, including those impacting content creators, underscoring that engaging in any work or commercial activities on a tourist visa can result in fines, deportation, or permanent bans.
