On Saturday, February 28, a shocking discovery was made when a 13-month-old baby was found abandoned inside a car at an impound lot in Eastpointe, Michigan. The Detroit Police Department had been alerted to the child's disappearance and initiated an investigation.
Investigators suspected the infant might be in the father's car, which had been towed to the impound lot. The Harper Woods Police Department confirmed the car was towed due to improper parking and blocking a driveway.
Officers were dispatched to the tow yard, where they located the crying child in the backseat. The baby was transported to a local hospital and reported to be in stable condition. Child Protective Services was notified.
On Monday, March 2, a man was apprehended in connection with the abandonment. Authorities are currently investigating whether criminal charges will be filed.
