Rajasthan Village Erupts in Violence After Axe Murder

A violent axe attack over an old rivalry resulted in a fatality in Rajasthan's Banswara district on Sunday night. The incident unfolded in Tamtiya village, where a dispute between two groups escalated tragically.
The deceased, identified as Govind, reportedly went to the accused's residence to resolve an issue. An argument ensued, quickly turning violent when members of the rival group attacked him with an axe, causing his death.
In the aftermath of the killing, tension gripped the village. Relatives of Govind allegedly retaliated by vandalizing and setting fire to thatched houses and enclosures belonging to the accused's family.
Authorities have since deployed additional police forces to the area to manage the situation. As of Monday, police reported that the situation is under control and an investigation is underway.
