Security agencies have apprehended a 20-year-old man from Jodhpur, identified as Kundan Vishnoi, in Alwar district for allegedly providing sensitive military information to Pakistan. Vishnoi was taken into custody on Sunday night within the Itarana Military Cantonment after being observed under suspicious circumstances with a student.
Army Intelligence intensified its inquiry after discovering communications with a Pakistani number on Vishnoi's phone. Investigators suspect he was collaborating with a Pakistani intelligence operative and allegedly used funds received through these contacts to build relationships with students in the cantonment area, thereby gathering intelligence.
During interrogation, evidence reportedly emerged suggesting Vishnoi had shared confidential data with Pakistan, notably during Operation Sindoor. His mobile phone also revealed conversations with a Pakistani number. It is alleged that Vishnoi utilized social media platforms to befriend female students residing in the cantonment to gain access and obtain information, sometimes by offering expensive gifts.
A joint investigation team involving the Intelligence Bureau and CID is continuing the probe into the matter.
