In Phoenix, Arizona, Mikela Bahe faces charges of second-degree murder and leaving the scene of an accident after a fatal incident involving a man she met on a dating app. The victim, 52-year-old Norris Taft, was critically injured and later died after being run over by an SUV in an apartment complex parking lot on Sunday, May 3.
Taft had informed his nephew that he was meeting a woman from Mocospace, later texting that he felt 'catfished' as she did not resemble her profile. Despite this, he reportedly offered to drive her home.
Surveillance footage showed a woman leaving the apartment complex and entering a dark SUV. Taft then entered the parking lot and stepped in front of the moving vehicle, which struck him and dragged him before fleeing. Police identified Bahe, 30, using security footage from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, where she was seen boarding a shuttle to Flagstaff.
Bahe was arrested on May 6 and is being held on a $1 million bond. She has told investigators she remembers being with Taft in Phoenix but claims no memory of events after leaving a dispensary, even after being shown the surveillance footage.
