Anaheim Woman Arrested in Mexico for Brutal Decapitation Murder

An Anaheim woman, 23-year-old Alyssa Marie Lira, has been arrested in Mexico in connection with the brutal murder of her boyfriend. Lira is accused of killing and decapitating 55-year-old Enrique Gonzalez-Carbajal, her partner of two months.

The victim's headless body was discovered on August 25, 2025, inside Lira's Anaheim residence. Investigators determined that Lira had fled to Mexico immediately after the murder, prompting a five-month search.

Authorities collaborated extensively to locate Lira. Anaheim police homicide detectives, alongside the FBI and Mexican law enforcement, successfully apprehended her on January 22nd as she crossed into the United States at the San Ysidro Point of Entry.

Lira was booked into the Anaheim Police Department Detention Facility on suspicion of murder. She is currently being held at the Orange County Jail without bail and is slated for arraignment on February 13th.
