Counter-intelligence in Amritsar has successfully dismantled a significant drug supply network with ties to international smugglers. The operation led to the apprehension of four individuals and the confiscation of 4 kilograms of high-quality heroin, alongside Rs 3.90 lakh in illicit funds.
The arrested operatives, identified as Yuvraj Singh, Varinder Singh, Jagroop Singh, and Jugraj Singh, were allegedly involved in retrieving and distributing drug consignments. Police also recovered a .32 bore pistol with live ammunition and two vehicles used for transportation.
Further investigation has uncovered links to foreign-based handlers and an operative currently imprisoned. The case has been registered under the NDPS Act and Arms Act, with ongoing efforts to identify all involved parties in this transnational drug operation.
