Alleged Killer Linked to Two Homicides, Faces New Murder Charge
13 Nov
Summary
- Suspect Jason Guthrie accused of killing coworker in 2017
- Previously the only suspect in 2009 homicide of Autumn Van Camp
- Victim's daughter seeks justice for unsolved case

In a disturbing turn of events, Jason Guthrie, who is currently accused of killing his coworker in 2017, was previously the only suspect in the 2009 homicide of Autumn Van Camp. According to the homicide investigation report, Van Camp's body was found under Guthrie's bed, and she had been strangled to death.
Guthrie was never charged in Van Camp's case, as the State Attorney's Office declined to prosecute due to his "mental health status." However, Van Camp's daughter, Summer Pace, is now demanding justice for her mother's unsolved case, stating that "just because she wasn't famous or anything like that doesn't mean that her life was worth any less and doesn't deserve any kind of justice."
The report also reveals Guthrie's history of violent behavior, including an attack on his father and an incident where he allegedly assaulted another patient in a manner similar to how Van Camp was killed. Despite these concerning incidents, Guthrie was released from the hospital and later convicted of stabbing a man outside a liquor store in 2020.
Now, with Guthrie facing a second-degree murder charge for the 2017 killing, Pace is hopeful that this time, justice will be served, and her mother's case will not "slip through the cracks again."
