The High Court's division bench reviewed remarks made by the presiding officer in 1988, detailing the SP's alleged audacity. The trial judge at the time had noted the SP behaved "like a goon" and recommended departmental action, while refraining from initiating criminal contempt proceedings.
In light of these historical allegations, the court has now mandated the Director General of Police in Uttar Pradesh to submit a personal affidavit. This affidavit must disclose the current status of the officer and outline any actions taken against him concerning the incident that occurred 37 years ago.
