On September 24, 2025, an Alabama man named Mohammad Mohammad, 64, pleaded guilty to seven counts of murder-for-hire in a disturbing case that has shaken the local community. According to federal authorities, Mohammad had repeatedly asked a witness on August 11, 2024 to find someone to "take care of" his family members amid an ongoing divorce proceeding with his wife.
In the federal complaint, Mohammad is quoted as saying that he felt his "pride and self-dignity had been destroyed throughout the falling-out with his family over the last few years." The witness then allegedly connected Mohammad with an undercover FBI agent, posing as a hitman. At a subsequent meeting, Mohammad allegedly showed the agent photos of his wife and six children, provided their addresses and vehicle descriptions, and offered the faux assassin $20,000 to kill his wife and $5,000 for each of his children.
This chilling plot was uncovered just over a year ago, but the family's troubles had been brewing for some time. Mohammad and his wife had married in March 2021, but by mid-2021, his wife and two children had already obtained protection orders against him. In April 2022, Mohammad was arrested and charged with stalking after allegedly placing GPS tracking devices on his family members' cars. In the following months, several of their vehicles were also set on fire in suspicious incidents.
Now, Mohammad faces a maximum sentence of 10 years for each of the seven counts of murder-for-hire to which he has pleaded guilty. His sentencing is scheduled for December 10, 2025, and the community waits with bated breath to see justice served in this harrowing case.
