13 Mar
Summary
- Three bodies found in Summerdale believed to be missing Alabama family.
- Suspect arrested on kidnapping charges now faces murder counts.
- Signs of struggle noted at the family's home before disappearance.

Authorities in Alabama now believe a family missing since January 30 has been found deceased. Three bodies, suspected to be Aurelia Choc Cac and her children Niurika Zuleta Choc and Anthony Garcia Choc, were discovered on March 11 in Summerdale, Baldwin County. The family had disappeared from their home in Theodore, a location approximately 50 miles west of where the bodies were found.
Initial findings at the Theodore residence indicated "signs of a struggle." Hector Gamaliel Argueta-Guerra, who was previously arrested on kidnapping charges in connection with their disappearance, has since been charged with additional offenses. These include capital murder, abuse of a corpse, and capital murder related to burglary and kidnapping. The district attorney stated the state will seek the death penalty.
Investigators are working to officially identify the remains, though officials noted the sizes are consistent with the missing family members. A motive for the alleged murders has not yet been specified by authorities. The FBI had previously offered a $15,000 reward for information leading to the family's location. Argueta-Guerra is reported to have a violent criminal history in El Salvador and is allegedly linked to the transnational gang Los Surenos.
