Ahmedabad rural police have apprehended a 22-year-old man and detained a minor in connection with the murder of Arvind Rathod, a rickshaw driver. Rathod's body was discovered on Tuesday on the outskirts of Bilasiya village, showing severe injuries to the face and head, suggesting a violent assault.
Investigators identified the accused as Chandulal Patel, who works at a construction site in Bilasiya village and hails from Rajasthan's Banswara district. Police stated that Patel confessed to the crime, admitting that the murder occurred after an argument. The victim had been called to drop Patel and two others home after a liquor party.
During the return journey, an altercation ensued when Rathod objected to their abusive behavior, leading to the fatal attack. A case has been registered under sections of murder and causing disappearance of evidence. The crime branch utilized CCTV footage, vehicle tracking, and technical analysis to apprehend the suspect.
