The incident occurred in the Thakorvas locality, where an existing rivalry escalated violently. According to police reports, individuals arrived on two-wheelers, initiated a quarrel, and then forcibly entered a house to attack family members with sharp weapons.
Tragically, Ganesh Thakor sustained fatal stab wounds and died at the scene. Three other individuals were injured and received hospital treatment, with their conditions reported as stable. The dispute was reportedly fueled by personal relations between the groups, with an allegedly objectionable social media status posted on Tuesday further inflaming tensions.
Sarkhej police and the city crime branch have initiated a swift investigation. Bharat Thakor and Harshil Thakor were detained shortly after the incident, and Mahesh Thakor was arrested. Efforts are underway to apprehend other individuals believed to be involved, including Pratap Thakor, Vishal Thakor, and Sanjay Thakor. Police are actively reviewing CCTV footage and local intelligence to aid in their search.
