A 19-year-old woman in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, was brutally attacked and stabbed on September 11th after refusing romantic advances from a local man, Omkar. The assault occurred as she was commuting to work on her scooter.
Omkar allegedly intercepted her, demanded she accompany him, and then forcibly took her scooter keys. When she attempted to call for help, he snatched her phone, knocked her down, and repeatedly assaulted her before stabbing her in the neck and back with a sharp object.
Passersby intervened after hearing the victim's cries, prompting Omkar to flee. The woman was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment and stitches. Her father filed an attempt-to-murder case against Omkar, who was apprehended by police on September 10th based on informant information.
