Fearing arrest due to the alleged violation, she contacted a local contact who mediated with the authorities. She stated that they insisted she obtain a permit and travel with a guide before being permitted to continue towards Uzbekistan.
She expressed that the ordeal was solely due to her gender and that she anticipated encountering numerous checkpoints. The vlogger had previously sought assistance via social media, fearing for her safety and hoping to contact the Indian embassy. While PTI could not independently verify these claims, the vlogger posted an Instagram story seeking rescue.
