Adrian Peterson Gets Probation for 2025 Minnesota DWI
10 Mar
Summary
- Peterson pleaded guilty to one count of driving while impaired.
- Sentence of 90 days jail time was stayed for one year with conditions.
- Remaining charges were dropped as part of the plea agreement.

Adrian Peterson has resolved one of his driving while impaired (DWI) arrests from 2025. The former NFL running back pleaded guilty to a single count of driving while impaired in Minnesota. A 90-day sentence at the Hennepin County Adult Corrections Facility was handed down, but it has been stayed for one year, meaning Peterson will not serve time behind bars if he adheres to the probation terms.
As part of his probation, Peterson is required to complete 32 hours of community service within 180 days and attend a victim impact panel. He has already completed an alcohol screening as stipulated. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop the remaining charges. Peterson must maintain a clean record, avoiding any alcohol, drug, or reckless driving offenses for the next year.
This plea deal pertains to an incident where Peterson was stopped at 3:20 AM after exceeding the speed limit significantly. He was found to have a blood alcohol content of .14, well above the legal limit. Peterson is also facing legal issues stemming from a separate DWI arrest in Texas in October 2025, where he was found passed out in his vehicle with a handgun discovered in the glove box, leading to an additional weapons charge.
