A British actress, Emaa Hussen, 34, has been charged in Sydney, Australia, with attempting to import a commercial quantity of methamphetamine. The alleged drug smuggling operation involved over 300kg of meth, with an estimated street value of AU$296 million (US$208 million; £157 million).
Authorities allege Hussen, along with a couple from South Australia, attempted to import the drugs concealed within bags of charcoal in shipping containers originating from Ghana. The Australian Federal Police investigation commenced in April after border officials identified irregularities in two containers at Sydney's Port Botany.
