Summary
- Four accused granted stay on arrest in Bhilwara hit-and-run case
- Incident occurred in October when SUV ran over a head constable
- One suspect already in custody, police offered reward for others

In a recent development, the principal seat of the Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur has granted a stay on the arrest of four accused individuals in a Bhilwara hit-and-run case from earlier this month. The incident occurred around 12:30 AM on the night of October 16th, when an SUV with five people inside allegedly broke through a police barricade outside the Pratap Nagar police station and ran over head constable Pramod Kumar Yadav, leaving him with a fractured leg.
Police have already arrested one suspect, Sahil, a resident of Sawa Nai Abadi in Chittorgarh district, and recovered a gun from his possession. The four other accused individuals are Mohammad Hatim, identified as the driver based on CCTV footage, along with Mohammad Afzal Khan, Sohail Khan, and Balram Singh Rathore. Bhilwara police had announced a reward of Rs 10,000 each for information leading to their arrest.
However, the Rajasthan High Court has now stayed the arrest of these four accused until the next date of hearing, which has been scheduled after three weeks. This development comes as the court considers a petition filed on behalf of the four suspects.
