An 85-year-old man identified as William Bosworth was arrested in Lake County, Florida, for allegedly street racing a Corvette.
Bodycam footage released on Wednesday, June 15, captured Bosworth telling officers he was enjoying a ride in his favorite car. Authorities recorded his speed at 110 mph in a 45 mph zone around midnight on June 12.
When questioned about the street racing, Bosworth contended that the other Corvette driver initiated the dangerous situation by swerving. He explained his high speed was a defensive measure to avoid a potential accident.
Following his arrest for excessive speeding and street racing, Bosworth was taken into custody. He has since been released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 7.
