Barabanki's Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) station successfully apprehended two active drug traffickers on Tuesday, confiscating a substantial shipment of illegal ganja. The seizure amounted to 81.824 kilograms, with an estimated street value of Rs 50 lakh. The arrested individuals, Ankur Shivhare and Shyam Shivhare, both 35 and 40 years old respectively and hailing from Jalaun, were taken into custody near Iglas Pura Chauraha.
During the operation, ANTF teams also recovered an Alto 800 car, an Android mobile phone, and Rs 800 in cash. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, 1985, and further investigations are ongoing. The arrested men admitted to pooling funds to buy the ganja, which they then sold at a profit to support their families. Police are now working to trace the full extent of the drug network.
Records indicate that both Shivhare brothers have a documented criminal past. Their history includes previous cases registered under the NDPS Act, Gangster Act, and other serious offenses in Jalaun and Jhansi. Authorities are pursuing leads to identify and apprehend other members involved in this illicit trade.
