19 Dec
Summary
- Seventy butchered geese were discovered in two separate locations in Norfolk.
- The dead birds, a mix of wild greylag and pink-footed geese, had their breasts removed.
- String was tied around the necks of the geese found dumped on roadsides.

Authorities in Norfolk are investigating a bizarre and unsettling discovery after 70 butchered geese were found abandoned at roadsides. The grim finds occurred across two locations: 39 carcasses were located in St Pauls Road North, Walton Highway, on December 7th. Just days later, on Tuesday, an additional 31 dead geese were discovered in Market Lane, Terrington St Clement.
The discovered birds were identified as a mix of wild greylag and pink-footed geese. Investigations revealed that each goose had its breasts removed and string tied around its neck, suggesting a disturbing intentional act. This unusual method of disposal has left local officials perplexed.
Sandra Squire, the cabinet member for environment at the Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, described the situation as "grim" and "one of the stranger cases of fly-tipping we've seen." The motive behind the mass dumping and butchering of the geese remains unclear as investigations continue.
