8 Dec
Summary
- Five children under six were found locked in an outdoor shed.
- Parents face child abuse and retail theft charges.
- Father attempted to evade arrest using a fake ID.

Police made a horrifying discovery on November 15, finding five young children locked inside an outdoor shed. The children, all under the age of six, were found partially clothed with only an electric heater for warmth. Officers were present to apprehend the father, Wilber Rojas, on a felony warrant when they located the shed, which was bolted shut from the outside.
The incident unfolded after the children's mother, Gabriela Salgado-Estrada, was arrested for retail theft. She allegedly placed unpaid merchandise on the children and attempted to conceal more items, totaling over $200. Rojas, upon picking up the children, provided officers with a fake Mexican ID, further complicating his arrest.
Rojas was eventually apprehended after hiding from officers, facing charges of child abuse and providing false identification. The condition of the children and the circumstances of their confinement have raised significant concerns, with their current care arrangements remaining unclear.
