Summary
- 37 Maoist cadres, including three state committee members, surrendered to Telangana police.

- Telangana police are actively persuading another key Maoist leader, Devji, to surrender.

In a significant development, thirty-seven Maoist cadres, including three state committee members, laid down their arms before the Telangana police this past Saturday. This mass surrender comes shortly after a security operation in Andhra Pradesh resulted in the deaths of senior leader Hidma and twelve others. Among the surrendered are individuals who dedicated over three decades to the underground movement, highlighting a potential shift in cadre morale.
Leading the surrendered group were state committee members Koyyada Sambaiah, Appasi Narayana, and Dandakaranya special zonal committee member Muchaki Somada. The majority of the cadre hailed from Chhattisgarh. The Telangana police are actively engaging in efforts to persuade CPI (Maoist) general secretary Thippiri Tirupathi, alias Devji, to also surrender, emphasizing a strategic approach to dismantling the organization.
