27 Apr
Summary
- 237 boxes of liquor were seized in Greater Noida.
- The estimated cost of the seized liquor is ₹35 lakh.
- A fake bill was used to disguise the liquor shipment.

Authorities in Greater Noida intercepted a truck carrying a significant cache of illegal liquor originating from Haryana. The operation, conducted on Saturday night near Sharda roundabout, resulted in the seizure of 237 boxes of various sizes of Haryana-mark liquor.
The estimated value of the confiscated alcohol is approximately ₹35 lakh. During the investigation, a fake auto parts bill was discovered, which was apparently created to deceive transport and GST officials. The truck driver, identified as a resident of Barmer, Rajasthan, was taken into custody.
Further inquiries revealed that the liquor was being transported to Manipur, passing through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal. Officials suspect that such contraband is often destined for regions like Bihar for resale at inflated prices. This particular seizure is part of a larger crackdown on illegal liquor trade routes.
