An interstate drug peddler and two associates were arrested in Kondapur following a joint operation by the Eagle Task Force and Gachibowli Police. Authorities seized 32 grams of cocaine from the trio during a raid at Venkatramana Residency.
The prime accused, identified as 24-year-old Vegesna Murali Krishna Raju, allegedly discontinued his studies due to financial issues and turned to drug peddling. He reportedly sourced cocaine from Goa and Bengaluru, profiting significantly by selling it at a higher price than his procurement cost.
Investigations revealed that the accused utilized WhatsApp for communication and employed the "dead drop" method for deliveries, avoiding direct contact with customers. All payments were conducted through online transactions, with funds initially deposited into friends' accounts to evade detection.
The other two accused, Bhupathiraju Chiranjeevi Varma and Rudraraju Hemanth Raju, allegedly assisted in the operation. Police confirmed all three tested positive in drug screening tests. Further investigations are underway to uncover additional supply chains and financial dealings, with 15 known drug consumers also facing scrutiny.
