An investigation is underway after three men were shot and hospitalized early Sunday morning in northwestern Miami-Dade County. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the Brownsville area shortly before 4:30 a.m.
Deputies learned that one man with a gunshot wound arrived at the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition. Two other men, also suffering from gunshot wounds, drove themselves to Northshore Hospital. They are reported to be in stable condition and were subsequently transferred to the Ryder Trauma Center.
The preliminary investigation suggests the victims were heading to a gathering when gunfire erupted from an unknown source. As of Sunday morning, no suspects have been identified, and the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident.
